{Browser Window Shopping}: Summer Avenue Antique Warehouse.

Here I am, back again with another {browser window shopping}. The other day I had a bit of time to kill before meeting up with my mom and so I stopped into my favorite antique store close to me, Summer Avenue Antique Warehouse. As usual, I found some good things - and this time I didn't even take anything home with me (besides some gifts for friends...). I'm sure Jake appreciates that!

Here's what I spied..

Some fun retro chairs that just needed a little cleaning and love:

A fabulous chair for an office or retro living room:

A mid-century modern chest of drawers {love those legs}:

A club chair and ottoman for a steal at $85 - some damage and wet areas but you'd reupholster it anyway...

An enamel top cabinet - I could see this painted some fun color on the bottom and used as a side table.

Loved this mid-century modern buffet/hutch:

A retro kitchen table with four chairs:

Some fun retro canisters:

Fun pyrex and mugs:

A great sofa table:

Hidden under there is a spunky bar cart:

And a fabulous polka-dotted casserole dish:

Browsing antiques is one of my favorite things to do in my spare time - hope you enjoyed!

{Browser Window Shopping}: Bartlett Antique Gallery.

A few weekends ago my mom and I ventured out to Bartlett to try out a new antique mall. By new I mean new to us - based on browsing facebook I think they have been open for several years.

We had to go out to Barlett for something else so we decided to check out the Antique Gallery in Bartlett, which is at the intersection of Stage and Bartlett Blvd in a strip mall shopping center.

It reminded me right off of a smaller Sheffields. There was a ton of great stuff to see and a lot of furniture, which is what we were out to find that day. The traffic pattern on the inside of the store is pretty confusing when you're trying to navigate all the aisles without missing anything but they sure do pack in a lot of stuff so that is probably why.

I took pictures of some of my favorite finds! This ladder display shelf was right out front and would be perfect for potted plants on a porch:

I loved this kitchen cabinet - it was shallow which is perfect for a display in a kitchen and was in great shape.

Another ladder shelf - those things must be so hot right now.

This collection of retro glassware had me lusting for more cabinet space to display the fun colors:

And wouldn't this be fun on my counter?

This dresser made my heart flutter. I loved it so.

And lastly, this classic coke box would have been so cute with sewing notions or other small collections on top a dresser or chest.

I sure know I'll be venturing back out that way at some point. Great job, Antique Gallery - see you soon.

{Browser Window Shopping}: Summer Avenue Antique Mall.

I'm back for another installment of browser window shopping! Last weekend I went to my favorite antique store within reach, Summer Avenue Antique Warehouse (I love Sheffields but it is TOO FAR out there).  The last time I did a post about them I found all sorts of goodies. I love Antique Warehouse because it is big enough to find lots of treasures but small enough to be manageable for a quick antique fix without spending all morning.

So what did I find this time to lust after?

This side table/coffee table would be so fun with bright legs -

This library cart actually went home with me! I've been needing another bookshelf for the books I brought over from my room in the parental units' house. This one is two sided and on casters. So cool.

I spied these neat barstools, perfect for someone with a retro kitchen. How fun are they?!

Then next to them was this great chest of drawers that had been painted and refinished. It was very nice looking and a reasonable price.

Lurking under all those dishes is a really fun laminate retro table. Gotta love turquoise.

And this red cabinet? Ah - I'm in love. Narrow enough to fit in most spaces, glass front doors? LOVE.

Spied these Mae Sibley pieces for $75 a piece hanging on a wall. Very beautiful.

Down the way a little bit I saw these neat winter scenes for $25 a piece. There was a third one unframed for $15 as well.

These tupperware measuring cups found a home with me - they remind me of the yellow ones my mom has and still uses. You can never have too many measuring cups. We have some stainless OXO ones but seems the one you need is always dirty!

This same booth had some fun Pyrex pieces. I went home with two bowls, a casserole, and a refrigerator dish (on the 2nd shelf):

Also in that booth (where the winter paintings and Pyrex were), there was a stack of unframed art. This is where the 3rd winter painting was. This ballerina print would look so classy framed in a little girl's room!

All in all, it was a good day for the Summer Avenue Antique Warehouse. Such a quirky, fun little spot on Summer amidst some sketchness!

Until next time, there are treasures untold.

Browser Window Shopping: Summer Avenue Antique Mall.

I love to share my treasure finds with you all. Last week, Jake and I went to one of my favorite treasure spots, Summer Avenue Antique Mall, (on Summer Avenue, if you couldn't guess). I snapped a few pictures of fun finds to share.

One of the first booths we saw always is a go-to for Pyrex and vintage finds. It had this great cherry red Pyrex mixing bowl and pie plate. I don't have that size bowl or a pie plate so those would be lovely under a certain Christmas tree.

A few booths down, there was this Pyrex serving piece. I might have a casserole this size already but had to share this anyway - isn't the server set up neat?

In the back we spied this awesome desk. I don't think we'd have anywhere for it in our house but it didn't stop me from lusting after it for someone else. I think it is just super cool, especially in a hallway or other kind of makeshift office spaces.

And, of course, I couldn't help but share these bowls of my favorite Pyrex print. The whole side section of this store is retro/vintage classic in perfection and is always fun:

Vintage Lily, anyone? This one is a size 10 and in great condition.

In the more cluttered part of the store, I spied this doll house. It is a complete house with furniture and dolls. I would have DIED when I was younger (who am I kidding, I still want it).

The last area we came across was this fabulous retro set-up. In another house and decor setting, I could totally rock this turquoise couch. You can barely see, but there were orange side chairs with it too. Love it.

Thank goodness for the ability to pretend shop by taking pictures because otherwise I would have bought more than I needed to - I fell in love with so many things.

Gary's is a go.

Y'all know I love a good antiquing trip. I've got several favorite spots, but for a quick fix in town, I hit up Gary's Antiques on Central. Gary's is a total hit-or-miss spot, but isn't that what makes it fun?

I've blogged about Gary's a lot - here and here. And my latest trip had some good finds as well. I did show restraint and didn't actually buy anything... but had to share two fun finds:

I love these farm tables that they had - I'm wondering if they have someone that makes them because these two were different widths and lengths but seemed similar otherwise. I really want one for our dining room.

I also saw this red and white enamel kitchen table that I thought was fun as well - as a kitchen table or even maybe a desk? It was a good deal.
That's all I have to share this time from Gary's but I'm quite sure I'll visit again.

Treasure Hunting - Antique Warehouse on Summer Avenue.

I love a good antique mall. It can't be too pretentious or too pricey, and the junkier the better. My favorite (until this summer) was Bojo's on Summer. It was a 2-story dreamland of antique furniture and knick knacks. Since then, I've been looking for a replacement favorite. Sheffield's in Collierville is awesome but sometimes too well-known (picked over) and someones too "painted furniture"-y (not that I don't love a good piece of painted furniture but there is a thing as too much). I also love Gary's on Central but it is small - you can usually find good stuff there but you have to check back a lot.

So on Wednesday, my brother and I decided to check out his favorite antique mall, Summer Avenue's Antique Warehouse. And it didn't disappoint. Here are some things I lusted after or thought were particularly interesting:

I LOVED these vintage canisters, for $48 for the set of four (hint, hint, Mom).
This vintage apron was really sweet -
I love this pair of tables, two sizes, that have spool legs -
Then I came across this hidden gem - this table was buried under all sorts of other stuff. It was labeled "primitive enamel" table for $75 - I asked if he would take $50 and he said SOLD!
My brother Ez is really into mid-century modern and was drooling over this chair - apparently it is a replica of a famous design -
I loved this sweet vanity - it had two levels and was turquoise enamel with an attached mirror with vanity lights.
Sometimes I wish I could be adventurous and buy a Brady-Bunch style crazy 60's-70s house and just go totally retro with it.. If so, I'd love to have this entertainment/office piece:
The same area of the store had a lot of really cool retro stuff, including these juice glasses-
Now here's another birthday idea, Mom! I loved this milk glass stand. It would add to my milk glass collection.
Ez found this awesome liquor cabinet type globe. Totally man-cave worthy:
I loved this glass and black cabinet. I could see it holding my ridiculous Pyrex collection one day:
This was also a good find on a cabinet - could use it in a bedroom with some baskets and knick-knacks?
 I loved this - a juice pitcher, I think.
Check out all this fiestaware! I love love fiesta ware and have some reproduction version myself, handed down from the parental units.
This owl made me laugh - he's a napkin holder and I thought he was just too quirky.
Lots of good Pyrex - I liked the blue piece. Didn't see any of my turquoise set though:/
How awesome are these table and chairs? For the right house, so cool -
So exciting - chicken bowls like my mom's. Love these.
I thought this jar was awesome and apparently they did too, as it was priced $125? It is a "Gordan's Snack Jar", authentic, whatever that means.

We finally snaked our way around to the counter, where I paid for my table. Here it is waiting to be picked up -
But wait, we weren't done - we found out they had an OUTSIDE area. Genius!

LOVE this desk - can totally see it in a bedroom in a small space, with a laptop in that middle section.
Also, another fun find - this table was $100. It isn't in too great shape (the two pieces don't seem to meet perfectly), but if you can get past that small fact, you've got a ridiculously awesome metal retro yellow table. How hip.
And just when I thought we were done, Ez made more picks - he wants this lamp for his house at college (cough:cough - MOM)
And he wants this table for behind the sofa - this long table is painted brown (so not the best quality) but is the right size and length and is $35!
We walked away with our treasures - I with my table and Ez with his record, clock, and globe he picked up along the way. We were richer for the time we had spent there - lots of ideas, laughs, and conversation in addition to our treasures bought.
