{Life}: Goodbye, 2012.

Happy New Year! Welcome, 2013. 2012 was a good year for us over here, with just a few bumps on the way. I'm excited to be in 2013, see where it takes us. But before that, let's look back at some of what 2012 brought.

One of the first things we did in 2012 was take some Jasper family photos! Our dear friend Ellen (that blond cutie below) is a photographer and did such an amazing job. Here's her website - she's a keeper: http://www.whatsinaframe.com/

For our 3rd wedding anniversary (and 10th dating anniversary), Jake and I went down to New Orleans for the long weekend.

In March I took a trip up to New Haven and New York to visit friends for spring break. Best.Trip.Ever.

We had my family over for dinner when my brothers were home for spring break. Ezra brought Oscar and we had a basset gathering.

Jake and I celebrated the end of his second year of medical school (and the end of the classroom!). He survived his first round of boards.

We finally got our new window and door (even though the window had to be replaced a month later because someone threw a brick at it...)

We continued decorating and enjoying our little house:

June means camp for me and so it was off to the Mountain!

While I was gone Beamer had quite the time, having neck surgery after being seriously sick and injured. I sure was glad to see him when I got back.

July took me to Atlanta to see Beth and Brad and get trained to teach AP Economics.

Of course we went to my favorite, IKEA. Still looking for a way to use their cube "expedit" system in a house.

I took in a lot of hours in class as well. Lots of thinking.

Beth cooked for me, breaking out the old Cracker Barrel apron.

Then it was home...

And off to start training for my new job!

I ventured into making refrigerator pickles this summer and ended up making them quite a bit.

Harley went to the new dog park and had a play date with her sister, Maisey. They hadn't seen each other since they were 8 weeks old.

For my birthday I got a great new hutch for my kitchen!

And moved the sideboard to the dining room.

August meant Chan left for seminary...

and the start of school!

In September great friends came from all over to visit...

I celebrated my birthday away this year, at a horse ranch with my school on a retreat - it was beautiful.

We bought more local art at Cooper Young Festival - which I promptly got Jake to work hanging.

My cousin Amy and her husband Andrew came over to paint their changing table..

And I started filling up my new hutch with all my Pyrex collection:

Fall meant watching football:

and pumpkins!

and beautiful sunrises:

My best friend got engaged and asked me to be her matron of honor (though we've negotiated that I'll be called a maid!)

My family took our annual trip for my dad's birthday:

Memphis was beautiful this fall. We took many walks on the two greenlines in Memphis:

I finally got around to staining our door:

I went to Murfreesboro to chaperone Model UN, which was extra fun this year because Elise is the Assistant Director!

A few weekends later I went back to Nashville to spend the weekend with Elise for her birthday:

We went to Porter Flea, a huge awesome craft fair:

And snuggled with Luna:

And went to church and had lunch with Christy!

Then it was time for Christmas!

And we got to meet baby Layla, Amy's little girl:

And to end the year, it snowed (just a little) the day after Christmas:

Continuing the family fun, we went bowling with Jake's family:

And I spent the last days of 2012 doing what I'll surely be doing a lot in 2013, helping Elise plan her wedding!!!

So there you have it. 96 pictures later, my 2012 in review. I can only imagine what 2013 will bring. Jake will finish his 3rd year and begin his 4th year, he'll apply for residency programs, I'll go to camp.... who knows what all will happen.

In celebrations and reflections,
