House Tour: Living Room part 3
The last time I posted my living room on here, I was very excited because I felt like the living room finally looked like someone lived there. And yet I still felt like it looked odd since there was carpet.
Well, as you all know from this post, my brother helped Jake and I take out the carpet last weekend. So, after putting down the quarter-round and cleaning the floors with a little Murphy's Oil Soap, we've got ourselves a brand new living room:
Of course, there are always more things to be done... but until then, I'm going to enjoy my new set up (it feels more inviting) and stare at my wood floors.

I can't believe how fast you guys got the carpet out! That seems like record time! Do/did you have to do anything to the floors?
They're very pretty.

It was actually pretty easy - ripping it up is much easier than putting it down I hear. We just cut it out in strips. It did help that Ezra was in town and took the tack strips out along the edge. It took maybe 3 hours to rip out, 1 hr to get the tack strips out, and a Saturday to stain, poly, and lay the new quarter round.
As for what we've done to the floors themselves, they were actually in pretty good shape minus a few stains and scratches so for now we just cleaned them with Murphy's and will worry about refinishing after we get our big kitchen project done.
