{Holidays} Christmas Decorations!

For the fourth year in a row Jake and I have made a big date night out of our Christmas decorating session. We block a date, clean the house, and pull down the decorations from the attic. Then we order pizza and make a night of decorating.

We started out with the outside lights. We actually still had our pumpkins out from Halloween/fall so those had to get thrown away finally. We got new globe lights this year to replace the icicle lights we usually use (they died somewhere between last year and this year).

Like I said, before we decorate I like the house to be clean so we spent some time cleaning the house. Here it is, before decorations:

And then it was time for a Grizz break:

And then time for the decorations! This was the first year we've had a second tree. We got this 3 ft fake tree at Target on sale after Black Friday. We put our "fun" ornaments on this tree. The white door ornament in the middle of this tree is the one Jake used to propose to me Christmas 2007.

I also made a Christmas countdown calendar on our chalkboard door in the kitchen:

We put our nativity in a new spot this year, on top of the sideboard in the dining room:

I added my "Oh Holy Night" craft to the scene:

And in the living room we decorated the tree and the mantle:

I got a Christmas tablecloth this year:

The finishing touch was putting my button wreath that I made last year on the door:

And with that, decorations were done and we were in the spirit.

So here's to another great Christmas decoration date night with my guy. I don't really feel that it is the Christmas season until it happens!

In ornaments and lights,
